When Fendi transformed the historic Fuller Building into its luxurious 6,900‑sq‑ft flagship store, the centerpiece was a dramatic cantilevered glass sphere suspended beneath a double-height modular ceiling — a striking structural and architectural gesture that demanded precision and expert steelwork. As the steel subcontractor responsible for the miscellaneous steel involved, our scope included fabricating and installing the support framework for the glass sphere, integrating brackets, concealed steel armatures, and mounting structures that carry both the weight and aesthetic demands of the glass installation. The work required tight tolerances to align with the surrounding industrial-style ceiling beams, decorative steel and brass accents, and lighting elements, all while preserving the architectural integrity of the Fuller Building.
Through close collaboration with the design and architectural teams, we ensured that every steel connection and hidden support was engineered for strength, visual elegance, and seamless integration. The result: a visually stunning centerpiece that floats within the space, a fusion of craftsmanship, structural ingenuity, and refined luxury.
